10 Wordpress Plugins To Get Search Engines to Fall In Love With Real Estate Blogs- Part 1 of 2

Written on September 24, 2008 by Peter- REBB Founder

In my previous posts, I discussed how you can use a blog as real estate marketing strategy.  In Real Estate Blogs - How You Can Start Generating Real Estate Leads In The Next 15 Minutes, I shared with you 4 simple steps to get your blog up and running in no time.

Then, in my next post titled How To Get Your Readers to Fall In Love With Your Real Estate Blog, I shared with you 3 secrets and several plugins that will help you make your readers fall in love with your blog.

Today, I want to share with you five Wordpress plugins that will have search engines fall in love  with your blog, index you fast and increase your search engine rankings.  Oh, I forgot, those plugins are all free.  That’s right.  You can get them for nothing and use them on your own wordpress blog.  Just remember, provide great content on your blog.

So let’s get right into it…

Wordpress Search Engine Friendly Plugin #1

Permalinks:  This isn’t so much a plugin as a fix inside the wordpress blog.  Basically, what this fix does, it makes your url’s both search engine and user friendly.  Permalinks will make your url’s look natural with actual keywords which will make sense both to the readers and the search engine robots.

To make this change, login to your Wordpress admin area and click on “options”.  Then click on “permalinks.”  Now you should see a heading called “Customize Permalink Structure”.  Click the radio button next to “custom” and type in:

/%postname%/

That’s it, your done.

Wordpress Search Engine Friendly Plugin #2

All-In-One SEO Plugin This is one of the most important Plugins in your arsenal.  This plugin alone will make your wordpress blog search engine friendly.  Make sure that after you install it on your blog, you activate it and configure the options as described at the author’s page.

Wordpress Search Engine Friendly Plugin #3

Akismet Hate SPAM? Me too.  To solve that problem, Akismet is here for you.  I absolutely love this plugin and couldn’t survive without it.  As of today, Akismet has caught 1482 spam comments on my blog.  Imagine how much time I would have to waste to check those 1482 comments just to see they’re spam.  This plugin is a lifesaver.  Don’t leave your blog without it. :)

Wordpress Sarch Engine Friendly Plugin #4

Google Analytics Plugin I’ve been saying this for a long time, Google Analytics is one of the best tracking software programs out there.  And it is free.  Can’t beat that, right?  This little tool will tell you everything you would want to know about your traffic, unique visitors, repeat visitors, bounce rate, time spent on your blog, and more.  If you want to grow your blog, this plugin is essential.

Wordpress Search Engine Friendly Plugin #5

Google XML Sitemap Having a sitemap of your blog is essential to your search engine optimization strategy.  A Sitemap is a xml file that gives search engine robots a map of your site.  When you create a sitemap and submit it to Google and other search engines, you basically announce to the world that your site is live and ready to be crawled.  This plugin will help your blog get crawled and indexed much faster on Google.  By the way, this plugin will create a sitemap and submit it to several Search Engines automatically.

There you go.  The first five plugins for your real estate blogs.  Next up, I’ll share with you the other 5 plugins that I think are essential for your real estate blogs.  In part 2, I will focus on social marketing plugins to increase your traffic and Search engine exposure.  I will also share a plugin that no wordpress blog should be without, ever.

So, what did you think about those plugins?  Are you using them?  Do you have any favorites?  I bet you do since there are thousands of them out there.  Share them with us in the comments below and I might just do a post that includes collaborative plugins and give you credit, right in the post.

To Your Success,

Peter K.

    Peter,
Listen - you can go ahead and delete this comment. It pertians to the 3 ways to
pump up your video real estate marketing. Is anyone else have problems with the link?

It just returns to itself - with a little ‘endif’ on the bottom of the page - without showing
any kind of video. Just wanted to let you know…

This was happening around 11:00 pm on Wednesday night, pacific time.

    THANKS!

    Hi Joe,

The post you are referring to can be accessed here.

There is no video inside that post, just a regular post. However, since there has been so much demand from my subscribers about the video for this, I’ll make a short video in the near future and post it here on the blog.

    Thanks for bringing it up.
