In my past post, I talked to you about the critical questions you need to ask yourself when building your real estate website. If you missed that post, you can read it by going to Real Estate Investor Website Design- 5 Critical Questions You Need To Answer. In fact, I would suggest you read that first post before you read this one. It will give you some really good ground work.
Today, I am going to talk to you about the last 2 questions you need to ask yourself when designing your real estate investor website. So, without wasting anymore time, here are the questions:
Crucial Real Estate Website Question #4 -How do I get my visitors to leave their contact info on my site?
I see this mistake made on some real estate websites all the time. Some people will spend ton of time and money getting people to their site. They’ll buy ads on Google Adwords, write articles and talk to people in forums. However, they miss the whole squeeze the name out of the visitor concept. They forget to give their visitors and incentive to leave their name and email on their site. Thus, they’re not building their list.
When people arrive at your site, you want to present them with an offer in exchange for their name and email. That offer needs to be so compelling that they will be willing to give up their email for it.
But how do you do that you ask? Well, you can build a squeeze page and drive your traffic there, or you can create a floating hover ad that shows up in your visitor’s browser when they arrive at your site for the first time, and/or include a subscribe box in the corner of the site just like I have in the top right corner of this site.
Oh, and since you are here, sign up to my list in the top right corner of this page. You’ll get some really cool unadvertised bonuses (yes I have some hidden on this site) and my now infamous, Real Estate Black Book.
(By the way, try adding little paragraphs like the one above to your articles on your website and see what happens
Crucial Real Estate Website Question #5 -How do I build the relationship with my visitors?
So now you have your targeted visitor signed up on your list. You are probably asking yourself, what do I do now? Right? Well, don’t worry, I’ll tell you right now. Once your visitor subscribes to your site, you need to start building a relationship with him/her. Why? because “people buy from people they like.”
I bet you heard that quote before, right? Well, it’s true. This one concept that I’m sharing with you right now has allowed me to build some great relationships that have helped me in more ways that I could ever imagine.
So what do you need to do then? You need to create a follow up system in your autoresponder software to follow up with people that sign up on your site. For starters, write 3 to 5 messages that will go out to your visitor on a second, fourth, sixth and so forth, day after they subscribe. You might want to test the frequency of the messages you send out to your list.
Make sure that you are transparent with them. Ask them questions, offer your help, and don’t expect anything in return. You can also give them your personal phone number if you like. I do it all the time and have had people call me. You will be amazed! Before you know it, people will start recommending you to others, talk about you and your services on the internet on forum boards, etc.
So, follow up, follow up, follow up. I’m still emailing and following up with people that have been on my list since December 2007. I actually had a guy email me today and he’s been on my list since the beginning on this website.
So there you go, your 5 critical questions you need to ask yourself when building you real estate investor website design. Just to recap, here are the 5 critical questions:
Question 1: Who is my target audience?
Question 2: What are their NEEDS and what can I give them to satisfy that hunger?
Question #3: What is the best way to reach my target audience?
Question #4: How do I get my visitors to leave their contact info on my site?
Question #5: How do I build the relationship with my visitors?
So, did I help you? Did this little questionnaire help you or confused you even more
I hope it helped you a lot. However, if you need some clarification or want me to expand on any of the subjects above, post a comment here on the blog. I’ll answer it in the future post.
To Your Success,

Hello Peter, I want to thank you for your hard work. I love this blog because it educate me about a lot of thing that was clueless to me. But, I only have one question about the squeeze page. Do you have to be a webmaster to put a squeeze to a website or we can do it ourselves? I have been fought with my webmaster to add a squeeze page to my website. all i get from them is running around. That is the reason why i ask this question.
Thanks,
wiscar,
No you don’t need to be a webmaster to put up a squeeze page on a site but you do need few things:
1. You need access to your website admin area so you can upload the squeeze page to your site via FTP. FTP is a free software you can use to upload stuff to your site.
2. You need to know some html to design a squeeze page and input a sign up form on the page itself. That way, you’ll be able to collect emails from people when they sign up.
I hope this helps, I’ll make a blog post if you need more info.

This might be a little off subject, but have you looked at seoclientprospectingrobot dot com? Just wondering if you have any reviews of it, I’m thinking of buying a copy, and wanted to see if anyone had bought a copy yet.
This is never easy.
@Increate Website Traffic –
I know it’s never easy but if you can get it done, you’ll see a huge difference in your business. Good luck.
Peter
Commenting usually isnt my thing, but ive spent an hour on the site, so thanks for the info

Peter
I have read a few of your posts and they are all interesting and informative…keep up the good work.
I am loving this site!! Will be back soon. Thanks.
It sounds like you’re creating problems yourself by trying to solve this issue instead of looking at why their is a problem in the first place
Hi, I’m a long time reader but first time commentor. I must say, you have an excellent blog! Btw, where might I find your RSS feed?
Great info thanks for the share. You don’t mind if I ask you a rhetorical question about yourself do you?
This was what I needed to know. I love this kind of inside info.
Wow! what an idea ! What a concept ! Beautiful .. Amazing
This is the some thing which we dont get now days to read, this is awesome thanks for such nice blog. I have bookmarked it to read more comments and updates.
Offering value is definitely an important point Peter. Offering value (something for free), or using a a persuasive design checklist (social proof, scarcity of product) are real drivers for people and will often have people leaving their information.
Always make sure the website is setup to maximize on conversions!
@Vancouver Real Estate –
