Recently, I wrote a post about real estate search engine optimization and how you can use Google Maps to help you dominate your local real estate market. If you haven’t read that already, you can read it by going to Real Estate Search Engine Optimization- 4 Easy Steps to Dominate Your Local Market On Google. Today, I want to expand on that topic a little more and give you two more strategies you can use within Google Maps to help you dominate your local market using Google Maps.
So, let’s get going.
Google Maps Strategy #1
if you haven’t signed up for Google Maps to include your local real estate business within their directory, go to Real Estate Search Engine Optimization- 4 Easy Steps to Dominate Your Local Market On Google and follow the steps there to get your business listed. This is a great strategy for you to use to help your search engine rankings within your real estate search engine optimization plan.
Once you list your company within Google, Go to your Local Business Center page that has been automatically created for you. Once you arrive there, you will see a Local Business Center main screen with 2 tabs right at the top. Click on the tab that says: “Coupons.”
Once you click on that tab, you’ll arrive at this screen:
Now, click on the “Add coupon Now” button. Once you click on the button, you’ll arrive at a page that will ask you to fill out your coupon details. You will need to provide your business name, headline, sub-heading, details, image, expiration date and the offer code. All of these areas should be filled out because they play a big role in your real estate search engine optimization strategy and will help you increase your ranking on Google Maps.
So, what can you, a real estate investor, offer your prospects as a coupon?
Obviously, you can’t give a 10% discount or anything like that. Since you are in real estate investing, your provide service, not products. But, if you put your creativity cap on, I’m sure you come up with some killer offer. For instance, what if you offered them a free marketing evaluation for their home. In today’s market, some people have their home listed on the market for months and even years. By offering to give them a free/no obligation consultation on how they can sell their home fast, you can become their savior and a trusted authority.
Or how about offering them a free phone consultation or a free report on how they can avoid foreclosure? Your coupon can direct them to your site where you can use a landing page/squeeze page to get their email so you can build your list.
One more thing about the coupon strategy. Depending how you capture your Google Maps visitors, you need to track them to make sure you don’t waste your time. If you are directing them to call, add coupon code on the page that they’ll need to tell you in order to get their free consultation.
If you are directing them to a site, you can use a special code or a special web page that you only use for Google Maps. That way, you’ll be able to track the visitors that come to your site from Google Maps.
Google Maps Strategy #2
The second strategy that I want to share with you today involves paid advertising.
If you look at the above image, the arrows below the map point to a sponsored link. That sponsored link is geographically and keyword targeted to the exact search your prospects types into Google. What does that mean?
Well, if your prospect types in “sell my house in florida” and you target your campaign for that term, your business will be one of the businesses that comes up on Google Maps. And if your campaign is targeted well with the high position PPC, you can be right at the top.
So, how would you go about creating a sponsored link? Well, you have to create Google Adwords account. Google Adwords account is free to create. Once you start setting up campaigns, you’ll pay for the clicks your ads receive on Google. Google adwords is extremely powerful and one of the best ways to get traffic, build your list, and increase your exposure. But you have to be extremely careful because if you don’t pay attention to your campaigns, your account and your ads, you can quickly rake in 1000’s of dollars in fees. Plus, you need to watch for the Google Slap, their policies, quality score improvements, landing page quality and load time, keyword quality and more.
I can’t go into too much detail here about Google Adwords. I could write an entire course on it. In fact, if you search google, there are hundreds of courses on Google Adwords alone.
