Google’s Free Keyword Research Tool Finally Gets A Makeover!

Written on July 10, 2008 by Peter- REBB Founder

free keyword research toolGoogle has finally updated one of the best keyword research tools out there, their Free keyword Research Tool.  It’s been a long time coming.  The update is so significant that it has internet marketers around the world updating their keywords and testing the new keyword analysis tool to analyze its effectiveness.

So, what is this Big Google Keyword Analysis Tool Update?

Until now, whenever you researched keywords using Google’s Free keyword analysis tool, all you could see is the approximate number of searches made in a given month.  That approximate number was shown in graphical bar format.  You couldn’t see the exact number of searches.

Now, when you perform a search, you will get the results for the “Search Volume” in actual numbers.  Grant it, the Advertiser Competition is still represented with a graphical bar, but the fact that you can see the average number of searches helps tremendously.

Why would you need to know that?  Why would you care about keyword research tools anyway?

When it comes to marketing your real estate business, keyword research is one of the most important steps you need to take in order to be successful on the internet.  Read my Keyword Research-Is it rocket science? post to learn more about this strategy.

I can’t stress it enough, before you do any kind of real estate internet marketing, write articles, do search engine optimization, put up a new page on your site, etc. you need to know which keywords to use so your efforts can be seen by the search engines.

Now, Google makes it even easier for you.  They give you a free keyword analysis tool, tell you how many searches each keyword gets, what the competition for that particular keyword is in their Google Adwords Ad Network, and provide you with an easy way to start advertising to people who search for those keywords.

But be careful when doing research through their new keyword analysis tool.  I’ve been told by several well respected internet marketers who have already tested this new system that some of the search volume numbers are skewed by as much as 2 times of the actual search volume.

What does that mean?  That means that the numbers shown in the Search Volume column might not be the exact numbers for that particular month.

You’ll still get a good indication of the search volume for the particular keyword phrase to see if it is a good fit for you.  Either way, Google’s keyword research tool is still better than most other keyword research tools out there.

And last but not least, use other keyword research tools provided in my Keyword Research-Is it rocket science? post to make a more educated research.

Until next time,
