Whoa baby! That’s exactly what I said when I found out about this new technology Google has introduced to the world today. My little wheels in my head started spinning and coming up with different ideas of what I could do with this new technology for my real estate videos once it is available to me. It looks like Google is bringing on the big guns.
Are you curious? Well, here’s the deal.
After getting a lot feedback from their users, Google has finally decided to implement some new tools into YouTube.com. And I think this is just the beginning.
Here’s what’s going on. Google has just launched a new tool that will allow you to purchase whatever product you are watching on the video. For example, as you can see in the screen shot of the video below, Katie Perry is singing her song “I kissed a girl.”
Now if you look down below the video, you will see an option where you can purchase this song either from Amazon or iTunes right from YouTube. Are you seeing the potential here? Are you seeing the power this new feature can have on your real estate videos and your real estate investing business? If not, let me explain that to you.
Imagine for a minute that you just signed a contract for a house that you are planning to flip right away. You go to the property, roll the camera, record the house and prepare your video to upload on the internet. You go to YouTube.com, upload your video there, insert the necessary links into their designated fields, upload the video and your video is ready to sell.
Now, when someone watches your real estate video and wants to buy the house, they can just look down below the video, click a button and buy your property. Now do you see the power in this?
Great, but don’t get your hopes up yet because I have some bad news.
If you have been on my blog for a while, you know that there are times where I have breaking news to help you in your real estate business. Now, a lot times breaking news means that the technology is still in beta program. Which is understandable, the company wants to test the technology out before rolling it out into the world.
Same here. YouTube has just released this new technology, and they are testing it in few markets. As you can see, one of those markets is the music industry. That’s the bad news. You can’t use it in real estate just yet.
The good news is that YouTube has said, and I quote:
“This is just the beginning of building a broad, viable e-Commerce platform for users and partners on YouTube. Our vision is to help partners across all industries, from music to film, to print, to TV -offer useful and relevant products to a large, targeted audience and generate additional revenue from their content on YouTube beyond the advertising was served against their videos.”

So as you can see, not all hope is lost. Hopefully they will allow their users to include click able, buy it links within their videos, including real estate. I will keep a watchful eye on this technology, and once it is available for you and me, I will let you know here on this blog. But what should you do in the meantime? Use YouTube for your real estate videos to sell properties and market your business. Here’s a little trick that not many people know about. You can type in a link at the beginning of the video description and when you upload the video, that link will be click able. Just make sure that your link includes the http:// in it. Otherwise, the link will not be click able.

Your ability to locate fresh and cool ideas like this are what separates you from a lot of the other info-marketers out there that are promoting old information. Thanks so much for giving! I wonder if they can convert it to items that our one time purchases, i.e. real estate, into an ebay auction model too where you can bid for houses?
